Ardena

Ardena Gojani Neumayr

Ardena's love for movement ignited with salsa and blossomed through two years of ballroom dancing in USA. In 2010, she stumbled upon West Coast Swing and instantly knew it was her forever dance home.

For over a decade, Ardena has been a driving force in nurturing the WCS community's growth in Norway. Her quest for excellence led her across continents, learning from the best in the dance world. But her expertise extends beyond the dance floor. Educated as a psychologist and certified as a fitness and yoga instructor, she seamlessly integrates holistic wellness into her teaching.

While Ardena enjoys performing, competing, and judging, her true passion lies in using dance as a catalyst for personal development. Her classes are more than lessons; they're transformative experiences. Guiding others on their journey, Ardena's vision is to watch individuals evolve and flourish through the power of dance.

Clem & Evi

Clevi - Clem & Evi - are two passionate West Coast Swing dancers based in Berlin. With a decade of experience each, they have joined forces to teach and dance together.

Clement, an All-Star Division leader and an Advanced Division follower, brings a unique sense of musicality and creativity to the dance floor with his decade of musical studies and his background in solo dances like Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Contemporary.

Evi, an All-Star Division follower with a professional contemporary dance background and experience in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern dance, adds her unique flavor to WCS.

Clem & Evi love communication and connection in WCS, which allow them to co-create and express the music both as individual dancers and as a couple.

They also love choreographies and achieved a 5th place in the Rising Star division at the Open 2023, as well as a 1st place at Global Grand Prix 2023 and French Open 2024.

Joshi & Maïna

Joshua Schubert & Maïna Vila Cobarsi

Joshua is a dynamic and empathetic dance teacher from Freiburg.
He has been teaching West Coast Swing for over 10 years and has been the owner of a West Coast Swing dance school for 7 years, which has played a key role in building up the Freiburg community.

He teaches with humor and a great deal of attention to detail and to each individual dancer. His friendly manner and technical teaching promise a great experience. You can expect a perfect mix of technical content, exciting concepts, and thrilling figures.

Maïna Vila Cobarsi has been passionate about dance from an early age, practicing tap and solo dances. She discovered West Coast Swing in 2013 in Rouen and has been involved in events ever since. Inspired by various champions, she has developed her own style, with elegance, grace, and musicality.

Maïna often stood out in competition in the All Stars division and recently joined the Champion category. She continues to train regularly to perfect her skills.

In parallel, she co-created an online Lady Styling course platform with Angélique Pernotte in August 2023, with the aim of helping dancers in their personal growth and in embracing their femininity. She is also contributes to the development of her local community, organizing workshops and her annual event, “Normandie On West”.

Maïna and Joshua started a young partnership this year. Driven by a great connection in social dance, they started a routine and teach at many international events. The harmony in their dancing and teaching is evident in their interaction with others, inspiring those around them and generating enthusiasm for West Coast Swing. Look forward to humorous and personalized lessons!

Authentic Jazz with Else

Else is the founder of World of Jazz, a dance school dedicated to celebrating jazz in all its forms. In her classes, she combines musicality, technique, and creativity, creating a supportive space where dancers can deepen their improvisation skills and feel confident in their own expression across styles.

Authentic Jazz is a vibrant African-American dance form that developed in the early 1900s alongside jazz music. It is rooted in rhythm, improvisation and individual expression.

Else invites dancers to listen deeply, play with timing, and embody the music with authenticity and groove - values that resonate strongly with West Coast Swing.

Level description

Level yellow (at least 6 months WCS dance experience)

You know the basics of West Coast Swing, your next step is to improve your technique. You need more pattern variations and footwork and prefer in detail explanations of new movement variations. You need inspiration for additional styling elements and musicality.

Level green (2 years of WCS dance experience or 1 novice point)

You are confident in lead and follow, your basics are solid, you work with a wide variety of footwork variations and complex patterns. You social dance with dancers from any level with ease. Your next step is to improve your style, fine tune your technique and acquire a deeper understanding of the mechanics of West Coast Swing.

Level blue (+15 novice points)

You are an experienced dancer and have attended several international events. You can bring the maximum out of your partner of any level with your advanced lead and/or follow skills. Your aim in classes is to widen your advanced styling base, deepen musical understanding and further develop your technique. You want to use all of these to develop your own style.
